Pageant Shoppin’

I was in a few pageants and so was my daughter, my sister, my nieces and a few other girls that this song portrays. Shoppin’ for dresses and clothes to wear on stage is a big part of being in a pageant. I also have noticed that guys who watch pageants seem to be Shoppin’ too. After I was married, I was sitting next to my new husband and his father while they were watching the Miss America contestants on TV. Their comments sounded like they were at a cattle auction! …”She has a nice sturdy back!”…”Look at her swing that gait!”…”She could feed a couple of calves.” I was shocked. I think it was the first time I had ever heard that kind of “talk!” Well, that’s the reasons why I wrote this song.
